The database creation steps are similar.<\/p>\n<p>First, choose the release of the\u00a0database.<\/p>\n<p id=\"QUmbWVv\"><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-1824 \" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/bijoos.com\/oraclenotes\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/12\/img_585235ff94200.png?w=1200&#038;ssl=1\" alt=\"\" \/><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>The Service Packaging definition says &#8220;Standard and Enterprise packages include their respective on-premises capabilities and add Transparent Data Encryption. High Performance adds all database options excluding: RAC, In-Memory and Active Data Guard. Extreme Performance includes all options.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>So, to create the\u00a0RAC instance, we need to choose &#8220;Extreme Performance&#8221; service.<\/p>\n<p id=\"DoRPsVI\"><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-1825 \" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/bijoos.com\/oraclenotes\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/12\/img_58523686d9b54.png?w=1200&#038;ssl=1\" alt=\"\" \/><\/p>\n<p>In the Service Details screen, choose RAC checkbox. You have the following options:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>RAC<\/li>\n<li>Data Guard<\/li>\n<li>Golden Gate<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p id=\"vPZzoqf\"><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-1826 \" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/bijoos.com\/oraclenotes\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/12\/img_5852377285b3f.png?w=1200&#038;ssl=1\" alt=\"\" \/><\/p>\n<p>As soon as you choose RAC, the other options go away. So at this time, it looks like the RAC database may not have Data Guard or Golden Gate.<\/p>\n<p id=\"sCCIpbw\"><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-1827 \" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/bijoos.com\/oraclenotes\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/12\/img_5852377d59f26.png?w=1200&#038;ssl=1\" alt=\"\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Here are all the options chosen in Service Details.<\/p>\n<p id=\"CJPAhiW\"><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-1828 \" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/bijoos.com\/oraclenotes\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/12\/img_585237a3c54a9.png?w=1200&#038;ssl=1\" alt=\"\" \/><\/p>\n<p>I chose 1 CPU machine\u00a0but looks like RAC instance does not like that.<\/p>\n<p id=\"zIZkljm\"><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-1829 \" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/bijoos.com\/oraclenotes\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/12\/img_585237c2b88ba.png?w=1200&#038;ssl=1\" alt=\"\" \/><\/p>\n<p>All is good, the summary screen shows (note the compute shape):<\/p>\n<p id=\"IhqOmHy\"><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-1830 \" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/bijoos.com\/oraclenotes\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/12\/img_5852380bc6eab.png?w=1200&#038;ssl=1\" alt=\"\" \/><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>That&#8217;s it. Rest of the work is done by Oracle Cloud for you.<\/p>\n<p id=\"DRJoiFa\"><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-1831 \" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/bijoos.com\/oraclenotes\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/12\/img_585238538a96a.png?w=1200&#038;ssl=1\" alt=\"\" \/><\/p>\n<p>After about 1+ hours, the RAC instance is created.<\/p>\n<p id=\"umzdeNs\"><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-1834 \" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/bijoos.com\/oraclenotes\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/12\/img_58523a7143996.png?w=1200&#038;ssl=1\" alt=\"\" \/><\/p>\n<p>The database service has two nodes, 4 OCPUs, 30GB memory.<\/p>\n<p id=\"LuTGzqP\"><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-1833 \" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/bijoos.com\/oraclenotes\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/12\/img_58523a545011f.png?w=1200&#038;ssl=1\" alt=\"\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Enable the ports to connect to database using SQL*Net and to use OEM Database Express. The menu\u00a0does not have an option to view Dbaas\u00a0Monitor with the current version of Cloud.<\/p>\n<p id=\"wACFQcg\"><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-1835 \" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/bijoos.com\/oraclenotes\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/12\/img_58523b4cbf822.png?w=1200&#038;ssl=1\" alt=\"\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Let&#8217;s login to the database backend servers, and verify the services.<\/p>\n<p id=\"iwhHUXw\"><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-1836 \" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/bijoos.com\/oraclenotes\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/12\/img_58523ba28b411.png?w=1200&#038;ssl=1\" alt=\"\" \/><\/p>\n<p id=\"ftOjugR\"><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-1837 \" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/bijoos.com\/oraclenotes\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/12\/img_58523bad0b89a.png?w=1200&#038;ssl=1\" alt=\"\" \/><\/p>\n<p id=\"FeKHFfq\"><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-1841 \" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/bijoos.com\/oraclenotes\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/12\/img_58523c8eca3e2.png?w=1200&#038;ssl=1\" alt=\"\" \/><\/p>\n<p>The disk allocation on both servers are pretty identical.
