Dear Sir , I am actually in Kolkata studying for OCP 9i DBA and has been able to buy ur books SQL & Fundamentals 1.They are definitely a winner.But I have not been able to find Fundamentals 2 and Performance Tuning.Please do advise. Sir , Fundamentals 1 does not have Figure 2.4 as mentioned and SQL book has some errors , for example the answer to question 11 of Chapter 3 where you speak about ASC converting a letter into its SCII code and ASCII function not existing.Again , if you look deep into the Real world scenario for the use of INSTR and SUBSTR (Page 119), it seems that the pipe character should either be 1 or 2 not 2 or 3.And the example should say that the second field begins with character position 5 instead of character 5 . Please , Sir , my intention is not to go witch hunting but is a sincere attempt to inform you about matters I have been able to study so far. As a beginner , I am either completely wrong in my study , or the errors may have gone unnoticed.Please bear with me. I do hope that your effort and guidance will guarantee a life long collaboration between us.I look forward to have my OCP certification using your brand products. Regards Manhar JANKEE

Greetings Bijoo, I am right now working on migrating a SQL Server Database to Oracle 8.1.7.3, the migration is complete but the application (VC++) which used to take 45 minutes to finish a file transfer to a main server in our campus now takes an hour and half or so to do the same job. I am using database links to access certain oracle views(read only access) in the main server whereas in SQL server world I copied the Views data using DTS into SQL Server and used the copy. Would this difference be the cause of the time difference. If so what are my options. Please let me know. Thanks, Priya
