Professional Profile

Biju Thomas serves as Senior Vice President of Digital Transformation at Data Intensity, working with Oracle field teams, partners, and enterprise customers to modernize and operate mission-critical platforms at scale.

He leads Data Intensity's solution architecture pre-sales team and its Oracle AI strategy and governance initiatives, helping customers move Oracle Database and E-Business Suite workloads to OCI and multicloud platforms with a clear view of architecture, risk, and cost. He co-created the TCOT (Total Cost of Ownership with Technology) methodology, used to model Oracle licensing and multi-year TCO for cloud transitions.

Journey

His 30+ year career has been rooted in real production environments—designing, troubleshooting, tuning, and leading modernization initiatives across every era of Oracle Database, from on-premises systems to OCI, Exadata, Autonomous Database, and Oracle Database on Azure, AWS, and Google Cloud.

Throughout that journey, the focus has remained consistent: translating complex platform decisions into practical, repeatable outcomes for teams operating high-stakes systems.

Origins of Bijoos.com

Long before blogging platforms and social media existed, Biju began sharing practical Oracle knowledge with the community. In 1997, he published his first personal website on GeoCities, offering scripts and tips aimed at helping early-career DBAs make their daily work easier.

That early effort laid the foundation for what would later become bijoos.com—a long-running resource focused on real-world Oracle administration and architecture. The original site is no longer actively maintained, but it has been preserved as an archive and remains accessible today.

Writing & Publications

Biju is the author of seven Oracle certification books. His first was published in 2000, at a time when authoritative Oracle resources were limited and certification preparation relied heavily on printed material and hands-on experience.

Prior to that, he had written a technical article for Oracle Magazine on Oracle 8i LogMiner. That article drew the attention of Sybex, who reached out to explore whether he would be interested in authoring a book.

With no prior book-writing experience, he took on the opportunity with strong editorial guidance from the Sybex team. The resulting book filled a significant gap for professionals studying for Oracle 8i certification and was widely used at a time when comprehensive online resources were not yet available.

This experience established a foundation for continued writing and publishing, alongside ongoing community contributions through articles, blogs, and conference presentations.

Recognition & Community

In recognition of sustained technical contributions and community involvement, Biju was invited to join the Oracle ACE Program in 2013 and was named an Oracle ACE Director in 2015.

In February 2026, he was recognized as a Microsoft Most Valuable Professional (MVP) for Azure. The dual Oracle and Microsoft recognition reflects his work at the intersection of both platforms, including Oracle Database@Azure and multicloud architectures for Oracle workloads.

He serves as Chair of the OATUG EBS on OCI SIG and is a co-founder of the Quest Oracle Database SIG. He speaks regularly at industry and user-group conferences, including Oracle AI World, KSCOPE, AIOUG Sangam, UKOUG, UTOUG, and BluePrint4D.
